Vocal Music

Mrs. Mary Wynn - Vocal Music Teacher. Students are expected to be attentive, follow instructions and put forth best efforts via class participation, classwork, singing, and playing the piano keyboard. 8th Grade Advanced Choir

This course will help students develop skills to evaluate music, build self confidence, teamwork, as well as gain an understanding of the historical and cultural perspective of the music. Students will perform various styles of music with concentration on sight reading and listening skills, music theory, vocal independence, and proper vocal production in preparation for rehearsal and performances.

Intermediate Choir

Intermediate Choir is an elective vocal music course for students desiring to perform. The goal is to teach students to become better and more confident singers and to develop an appreciation for vocal music. Students will perform various styles of music from selected music training books and musical scores appropriate for their skill level with concentration on sight reading skills, music theory, and proper vocal production in preparation for rehearsal and performance.

Beginning Choir

Beginning choir as an elective course for one quarter. This course will focus on building and extending musical skills and concepts with an emphasis on singing. Students will be introduced to vocal technique, increasing knowledge of his/her own voice, reading music, electronic keyboards, music theory and composition. They will develop musical independence through exploration, practice and performance with hands on activities.
