Legacy Hall of Fame

The Legacy Hall of Fame was established to honor the history of Southfield Public Schools and celebrate the accomplishments of our alumni and educators. Each year the district will identify individuals who have made outstanding contributions to athletics and education and have helped bring excellence and distinction to the district.

Southfield Public Schools is actively seeking to identify individuals who have made outstanding contributions to athletics and education and have helped bring excellence and distinction to the district. These individuals will be considered for induction into the Southfield Public Schools Legacy Hall of Fame, which will be located in Southfield High for the Arts & Technology and on the Southfield Lathrup Campus. 

If you know of individuals who meet the criteria for any of these awards, please complete the nomination form below.  Please be as detailed as possible and include supportive information such as statistics and links to backup documentation.

CATEGORIES:
Athletic Achievement

Any alumni who actively participated in athletics, held a varsity letter in a sport for which they are being nominated, a positive representation as a student-athlete and alumnus and outstanding achievement in their sport while in high school and/or as an intercollegiate or professional athlete. Must have attended a Southfield or Southfield-Lathrup High School for a minimum of two years and be seven years post-high school graduation to be eligible for this award.

Any athletic coach with an outstanding achievement in their sport while coaching (see examples below) and a positive representative of Southfield Public Schools as a coach and community stakeholder. Must have coached a  Southfield or Southfield-Lathrup High School sport for a minimum of seven years and completed a coaching career at least five years before induction to be eligible for this award.

Examples:

  • League/State Championship
  • Overall Win-Loss Record
  • High number of student-athletes to transition to collegiate/professional level

Warriors for Education
Any former Southfield Public School teacher or administrator (retired for at least five years); former board member (off the board for four years); PTSA member or supportive citizen.
