• Our diversity makes us strong and unique.
• Schools bring people together to learn and live in a community spirit.
• Relationships between teachers, students and parents are critical for excellence.
• All students can learn, achieve at high levels, and be responsible for their education.
• Excellence is possible only when relevance and rigor are the ultimate instructional targets.
• Each child has unique interests, needs, learning styles and capabilities.
• Students have a right to learn in a ways that bring them personal success.
• Learning should be active, engaging, and have application to the world in which we live.
• All students achieve at higher levels when teachers collaborate with each other.
• Learning opportunities must respond to individual students' needs and interests.
• A nurturing and caring environment is critical to learning.
• An important part of education is to develop responsible citizens who can contribute to a democratic society.
• A variety of instructional strategies and methods should be used to reach all children, including technologies when appropriate.
• Teachers and parents must model lifelong learning for students to become lifelong learners.
• Involved families are more effective advocates for their children.
