Before you can be onboarded as a Kelly Education intern substitute for your assigned mentor ONLY you must:

  1. Obtain pre-approval from Field/Program Coordinator (college/university) There is typically a standard form provided by the college/university Coordinator; however, an email as evidence of pre-approval is sufficient.
  2. Obtain pre-approval from building Principal or designee
  3. Obtain pre-approval from your assigned Mentor Teacher
  4. Forward the form or email correspondences as evidence of pre-approval to Southfield Public Schools at chc@southfieldk12.org.

Onboarding

Student Teacher/Student Interns must complete the onboarding process with the district's substitute staffing company.  Onboarding includes obtaining the required Day-to-Day Substitute Teacher Permit, providing an official transcript, completing the I-9 process, etc.

Student Interns are limited to the maximum amount of hours they can serve as a substitute for their assigned mentors.  This is in accordance with policies and guidelines governed by the attending college or university.
