Community Service Congratulations to Fourth Grader Maya and Third Grader, Syerra for receiving the 2017 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Annual Youth Community Service Award for their outstanding service and commitment to the Southfield community. Both students are apart of the Cool Kids Jr Optimist Club of Southfield. Syerra serves as Treasurer. Congratulations to Kathryn (Third Grader) for winning the elementary 2017 MLK Essay Contest. Kathryn was presented with a certificate and $200 Savings Bond.
Congratulations to Kendall (fourth grade) as she won second place in the Optimist Club Essay Contest!
Optimist Club Essay Contest Winner Congratulations to Kendall (fourth grade) as she won second place in the Optimist Club Essay Contest! Kendall's essay was based on the theme "How to stay optimistic in the midst of challenges." Her essay was about how she has dealt with having childhood diabetes.
