2026-2027 Application Window 

Thank you for your interest in University K-12 Academy! To apply for enrollment, please follow the steps below. Be sure to gather all required documents and meet important deadlines to ensure your application is properly processed.

Fall: July 15, 2026 - Nov. 1, 2026
Exam Date: Nov. 15, 2026

Spring: April 1, 2026 - April 17, 2026
Exam Date: April 25, 2026

Candidates that have completed the application will receive more information about the testing details. 

Students entering grades 

All documents must be uploaded at the time of the application.  The application window closes on November 1, 2026 at 11:59 pm. This application is for scholars entering  grades K-10 in the fall of 2025.

Required Documents:

• Completed Application

• Most recent report card/Transcripts for Grades 1-10 (not required for Kindergarten applicants)

• Most recent State and Local assessment results (such as NWEA, MAP, i-Ready, or DIEBELS)

• IEP or 504 if applicable

• Answers to the three question essay.

  Why do you want to attend University K-12 Academy?

  If selected, how would you contribute to the school's culture and climate?

  What was the last book you read, and what did you take away from it?

Steps to Apply

Step 1: Complete the Application

• Fill out the application form in its entirety. Applications will not be reviewed until all documents have been uploaded; therefore, please be sure you have all required documents prior to filling out the application. 

Step 2: Notification of Testing Date

• Once your application is submitted, the University K-12 Academy Enrollment Team will notify you of the testing details. For grades K-10, the assessment will take place on November 16th.

• K-2 Scholars will be invited to the campus for a performance-based assessment.

Assessment Details:

• Kindergarten Readiness Assessment: Up to 1.5 hours

• Grades 1-2 Assessment: Up to 1.5 hours

• Grades 3-10 Assessment: 3-4 hours

Step 3: Review and Scoring

• After the assessment, your child’s scores, along with the full application, will be reviewed by the University Enrollment Team. Applications will be scored using a rubric. If necessary, an interview will be scheduled to further assess eligibility.

Step 4: Final Notification of Acceptance

Final decisions will be made, and you will be notified of your child’s acceptance status via email and phone, no later than January 15th.

 To prepare for the application, you will need the documents below. 

1. Most recent report card (dated after January 1, 2024)

2. Local/district assessment results (i.e., NWEA MAP; i-Ready Diagnostic Assessment, Smarter Balanced Interim Assessments, STAR assessments, or Early Literacy & Mathematics Benchmark Assessments) 

3. State standardized assessment scores (i.e., M-Step)

4. Section 504 Plan (if applicable)

5. IEP (if applicable)
