Fifth and Fourth grade students at Adlai Stevenson Elementary school attended a special event designed for upper elementary and middle school students featuring a book talk and signing with William Meyer, author of The Secret of the Scarab Beetle.  Each student was issued a copy of the book prior to their visit.  Following the talk, student groups had an opportunity to ask questions and have their personal book copy autographed by the author.  Later that day, students explored the Egyptian gallery using a self-guided activity sheet specifically designed to support students in linking the themes and ideas presented by Meyer with art in the DIA’s collection.
